A cobra was rescued after it slithered into a police station in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, on April 10.

A snake catcher was called to Dhamnod Police Station when staff spotted the dangerous snake.

The wildlife official named Sunny Jat managed to safely place the serpent into a plastic container. The snake was later released into a nearby forest.

Jat emphasised the dangerous nature of the cobra, highlighting its highly poisonous venom capable of causing death within minutes of a bite.

Snake catcher rescued a cobra that entered a police station in central India's Madhya Pradesh.

The incident took place at Dhamnod Police Station in Dhar district on April 10.

Visuals showed the snake catcher utilizing a rod with a hooked end in an attempt to secure the cobra. After a brief struggle, he managed to grasp its tail and guide it out of the police station. Unfortunately, it slipped from his grasp and began to slither away. Undeterred, the rescuer swiftly repositioned himself, employing the hook once more to grasp the snake's tail.

Following a determined effort, he successfully contained the cobra within a plastic jar. However, sealing the lid proved challenging as the tail remained protruding. Suddenly, the snake wriggled free from the jar, prompting another round of efforts from the rescuer. Despite the struggle, he eventually secured the lid, successfully rescuing the snake.

In an interview with Newslions, Head Constable Mahesh Jat recounted the evening events, stating that at approximately 9 p.m. on Wednesday, a police member spotted a 2.5-foot cobra near a computer within the Dhamnod station premises. Without delay, they contacted the snake catcher for assistance. Sunny Jat, the rescuer and a member of the Thank You Welfare Nature Society, swiftly responded and initiated the rescue operation. After a 5-7 minute struggle, the snake was successfully rescued and released into the forest.
