This is the spectacular moment a photographer captured a hummingbird changing the colour of their face.

The nature lover was standing in a muddy marsh patiently waiting to capture images of an Anna's hummingbirds in Zhejiang, China, on April 4.

Footage shows a male bir -, scientific name calypte anna - displaying its vibrant and colourful 'face-changing' behaviour from a distance.

He also captured the kaleidoscope of colours, including shiny red, black, and purple transformations on the faces of the birds from different angles of light.
