Efforts to rescue a six-year-old boy were underway after he had fallen into a 70-feet deep borewell in central India's Madhya Pradesh.

This incident happened in Manika village of Janeh police station area in Rewa district of the state on April 12.

Visuals showed the rescue operation which was underway at the spot where this incident took place. Rescue officials were seen preparing themselves by donning the right gear to conduct the operation and were laser-focused on saving the boy's life. Huge excavators, three of them, were used to dig up the ground close to the borewell and a big crowd had gathered at the spot. The rescue officials closely monitored the boy inside the borewell. Oxygen cylinders and ambulances were also kept at the spot so that the boy could be given immediate medical attention once taken out of the borewell.
According to a report, the child was named Mayank and this incident happened when he was playing with his friends in the afternoon. Police stated that the other children tried to get the boy out but failed in their attempt.

Rescue teams were soon pressed into action and officials from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) joined in the rescue operation to save the child. The child was supplied oxygen through a pipe and police also stated that two excavators were also being used in this operation. Rewa district collector Pratibha and Superintendent of Police Vivek Singh were also present in the spot where the rescue operation was going on.
