STORYLINE:

A group of diplomatic envoys and representatives from 31 countries and international organizations visited China's Sichuan. They had a fun time with giant pandas.

At the Dujiangyan base of the China Conservation and Research Center for Giant Panda, they learned about the living habits of giant pandas and the conservation efforts aimed at protecting the species in the wild.

They were greatly impressed by China's conservation efforts and expressed their excitement to meet the cute animals.

SOUNDBITE 1 (English): PAULETTE BETHEL, Ambassador of the Bahamas to China
"It's nice to see the pandas. (They're) really relaxed and doing what pandas do. And to be here and experiencing that is a real thrill and pleasure. Because, of course, we've heard so much about the pandas and this is really the highlight of our visit to Sichuan. We will share the joy of this with everybody. The ecosystem and saving it and also taking care of an endangered species. So you know, I would very much appreciate and of course endorse every move that's made to secure the livelihood of the pandas and to secure their future. So I think it's a wonderful thing that China is doing it. Environmental integration of all of us as human beings and nature is just so important to us and to our future."

SOUNDBITE 2 (English): ARLINDO DO ROSARIO, Ambassador of Cabo Verde to China
"(They're living a) very good life. The place is very beautiful, very quiet. Good job, good job for protecting the panda."
