Explosions were heard in several cities in Syria early Sunday as tensions escalated between Iran and Israel.

"At dawn Sunday, several explosions were heard in the capital and elsewhere in the country as a result of Syrian air defenses attempting to intercept Israeli missiles that were hunting Iranian missiles en route to Israel. Several explosions were heard in several Syrian cities. No causalities were reported, and no Syrian sites were reported to have been targeted by any Israeli missile. This is part of the ongoing tension between Iran and Israel."
Explosions were reportedly heard in the Syrian capital of Damascus, as well as Homs, Hama, Daraa, and coastal regions.
