Trainers put their heads in crocodile jaws as a near-the-knuckle Thai zoo re-opened amid a revival in tourism.

Footage shows the daredevils toying with the beasts at the Samut Prakan Crocodile Farm and Zoo on Sunday, April 14.

One reptile even snapped its mouth shut - giving the performer just milliseconds to remove his hand to avoid it being severed.

The stunts see them dice with death by placing their heads in the mouths of the crocodiles. In one trick, they pull money from the croc's chops.

Visitor Zadie Harrison said: 'Rather them than me. You could pay me as much as you want, but I wouldn't do that.

'The crocodiles are trained but they still have their natural instincts.'

The zoo closed during the pandemic when it fell into disrepair without the income from holidaymakers.

But with tourists flocking back to the popular Southeast Asia trail, bosses have decided to try their luck again.

Tourism and Sports Minister Sudawan Wangsuphakijkosol said 5,217,379 overseas visitors had arrived in the country between January 1 and February 18, a 49 per cent jump year on year.
