No progress has been made in the negotiations between Israel and the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) as both sides' stances remain unchanged.

On Sunday, the Israeli side said that Hamas rejected the latest proposal of exchanging hostages which was handed by the negotiating mediators.

The Israeli Prime Minister's office on Saturday issued a statement saying that Hamas had so far rejected all compromise proposals, insisting on a complete end to the conflict and a complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip.

The office noted that the Israeli cabinet and the security forces are united in their opposition to the "unfounded demands", adding that the only obstacle to obtaining the release of the Israeli hostages is Hamas and "not any factor on the Israeli side".

Earlier Saturday, Hamas announced it had responded to mediators in Egypt and Qatar over the proposed ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and reaffirmed its demands.

The movement reiterated its demands for a permanent ceasefire, the withdrawal of all Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip, the return of displaced Palestinians to their homes, the facilitation of relief supplies and aid into Gaza, and the start of reconstruction efforts in the coastal enclave.
