Iranian missiles and drones frightened Jerusalem residents as they lit up the night sky on Sunday, according a reporter in the area.

Mattia Sorbi said the incident, which occurred at around 2:00 am, forced him to take shelter amid the booming sound of Iranian-designed Shahed-136 drones soaring through the sky and becoming targets for Israel's air defence systems.

"Last night, I watched as a journalist, with my own eyes, the huge Shahed attacks that Iran brought on the sky of Jerusalem. It was around 2 am, and I watched with my eyes, going up to the rooftop of my building, the sky of Jerusalem full of red lights. And of course, around 2:15 am, the perfection of the Israeli Iron Dome catching all of these Iranian drones. I watched myself around 20 drones. In the beginning, it was really scary, so I immediately tried to protect myself," he said.
