One person was fatally wounded Tuesday evening and another injured when shots were fired inside a restaurant near the L.A. Live entertainment complex adjacent to the Crypto.com Arena and Los Angeles Convention Center.

The Los Angeles Police Department stated they are investigating a shooting that occurred at 6:15 p.m. at a restaurant in the 800 block of West Olympic Boulevard in Downtown Los Angeles.

LAPD officers were seen rushing into the restaurant upon arrival where CPR was being administered to a victim on the floor. The male victim was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, according to the LAPD.

Multiple sources have reported that a female was wounded, but it was unclear if she was dining with the man who was shot and killed at Fixins Soul Kitchen Restaurant.

The suspect is described as a male Black who fled in a white Honda, possibly an SUV, according to the LAPD.

Chief Michel Moore said on camera with ABC7 News that the LAPD's Robbery Homicide Division has been assigned to investigate the shooting at the restaurant that they believe to be a targeted murder based on the preliminary investigation.

Moore said he recognizes the loss of life and how the nature, manner and place where this crime occurred is terrifying to the public. They plan on having added patrols in the L.A. Live area while the LAPD conducts an aggressive investigation to identify the individual responsible.

There are currently a number of leads and physical evidence on scene and other things that Moore said he was not prepared to discuss at this time.

A female at the scene suffered a "graze wound" during the incident, according to Moore.

Moore said the location is extremely safe and that this incident is way out of context of anything that happens there.
