Tragedy struck Copenhagen's city center as flames engulfed Denmark's historic 17th-century Borsen, the iconic old stock exchange building. Spectators watched in horror as the structure's distinctive spire collapsed amidst the inferno.

Fortunately, all occupants evacuated safely, with brave individuals rushing to salvage precious historic paintings from the blaze. Culture Minister Jakob Engel-Schmidt lamented the loss, declaring it a devastating blow to Denmark's cultural heritage.

Located near the Danish parliament, the Folketing, the Borsen's proximity prompted evacuations in the surrounding area. The fire, exacerbated by scaffolding surrounding the building, posed challenges for emergency responders.

The cause of the fire remains unknown, with investigators grappling with the complexities of the scaffolding.
