In a daring high-altitude rescue operation, the crew of the Drago 63 helicopter from the Piemonte Flight Department swooped in to assist two stranded French climbers facing perilous conditions on the Eastern face of Monviso. Situated at a daunting elevation of 3,700 meters, the climbers found themselves in a precarious predicament on Saturday evening.

The deteriorating snow conditions had rendered them unable to progress in any direction, leaving them stranded atop the majestic peak. Fortunately, the timely intervention of the helicopter rescue team ensured their safety.

Despite the challenging terrain and altitude, the French climbers were retrieved in relatively good health, thanks to the skill and precision of the helicopter crew. Utilizing a rescue winch, the climbers were airlifted to safety, bringing their harrowing ordeal to a successful conclusion.
