Around 5 p.m. on April 15th, a loud bang was heard near the Shui'an Kangju residential area on Ajilaqin South Road in the Huimin District of Hohhot, northern China. Following the noise, a large crater approximately 4 meters deep appeared on the motorway.

Officials from the municipal construction center in the jurisdictional area stated that the collapse may have been caused by a ruptured sewage pipe. The sinkhole measures approximately 5 meters in length and 4 meters in depth. Currently, staff are working urgently to repair and address the situation. Fortunately, there were no vehicles or individuals involved in the incident, and there have been no casualties.
