Debris fall from high-rise following gas explosion in northern China
Debris fell from a high-rise following a gas explosion in northern China.
Dramatic video filmed in Harbin City in Heilongjiang Province on April 17, shows a fierce blaze igniting a residential apartment, sending dense plumes of black smoke billowing into the sky. Debris were also seen falling from the upper floors of the building, stoking fears of significant structural damage.
Officials from the Daowai District Emergency Management Bureau confirmed that the fire had been successfully extinguished and, miraculously, there were no casualties.
Preliminary investigations have linked the explosion to a gas-related incident. Authorities are currently assessing the building's structural integrity, with early feedback suggesting that the damage may not be as severe as initially feared.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
