An unusual and worrying situation involving a Golden Retriever breed dog occurred this weekend in a butcher's shop located on 5th and 80th streets in the city of La Plata, Argentina. According to a group of animal protectionists who reported the incident to the Buenos Aires police, the woman entered the shop and asked the butcher if they could butcher her dog. Immediately, officers burst into the house of the owner of the dog, named Toto, with several members of a local rescue group and took the animal into custody.

The woman, on the other hand, after making her defence and trying to explain what her intention was with the dog, was detained at the 8th police station in La Plata. There, by order of the UFI N°7 of the judicial district of La Plata, she was informed of the initiation of a case for infringement of the Sarmiento Law, which prohibits the mistreatment of animals.

The conversation at the door of the woman's house was filmed by rescuers.
