A quick-thinking driver helped a stranded motorist by handing them a fire extinguisher while still moving as smoke billowed from their engine.

Melitza Pagan and her husband Eduardo Muniz were on their way back from a road trip on April 14 when they spotted an incident on the road ahead of them in Virginia, USA.

Amazing footage – which has been viewed more than 670,000 times – shows other cars moving over as they get closer to two vehicles desperately trying to stop the smoke.

Without being able to stop, Eduardo casually handed the men dealing with the problem a fire extinguisher as one of them replies ‘good man, good man’.

Melitza said: “I felt sadness, fear and worry but Ed jumped right into action. We always have a fire extinguisher under the passenger seat for emergencies.

“I’m not sure what happened to the car as we had to keep going. But, I was so proud of my husband for thinking quickly and helping as much as he could at the time.

“We are from New Jersey and took a road trip to South Carolina for a friend’s surprise party.

“Me and Ed have been together for 20 years and have three children. Our two sons were in the car at the time and they were super proud of dad.”
