This is the dramatic moment a huge python that was stuck in a pipe was rescued with a hammer by residents.

The owner spotted the snake slithering away before it became trapped in the blue PVC pipe outside the house in Nakhon Pathom Province, Thailand, on February 16.

Footage shows the animal rescue team demolishing the concrete surrounding the pipe to retrieve the snake.

They used a hammer and a stick in attempts to remove the pipe from the snake, but the reptile's head was stuck, and they were unable to free it.

The wildlife officers later released the animal into the forest.

Reticulated pythons are the longest snakes and reptiles, capable of reaching up to 21 feet. They are non-venomous and typically feed on mammals and birds.
