Trees bent as a storm battered a rice field in central Thailand.

Video shows the powerful gales blowing across the field, almost flattening trees in Nakhon Sawan province on April 9.

A farmer, Lek, said: 'We had to stay inside the harvester truck and wait for the storm to pass. There was not much rain, but the wind was very strong.'

The Thai Meteorological Department said that day the central Thailand, including Nakhon Sawan, would be hit by isolated thunderstorms and gusty winds.

Thailand and neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia are entering their annual monsoon rainy season which sees soaring temperatures followed by powerful rain storms in the afternoon leading to widespread flash floods.
