This heartwarming moment residents saved a kitten dangling from a balcony in China.

Two elderly citizens rescued the tabby cat hanging on a leash that fell from a balcony in Jiangsu, China, on April 9.

Footage shows the pensioners using stacked plastic stools to lift the struggling feline. They held it up for a long time so the furry creature could breathe properly.

Moments later, the man cut the rope using a pair of scissors - saving the kitten from being strangled.

The animal immediately fell to the ground and fortunately sustained no injuries.

According to the onlooker who recorded the video, the kitten accidentally fell from the balcony while running around excitedly. It was later collected by its relieved owner.
