According to Wang Xiaosong, Curator of China's National Pavilion, art is the best bridge to connect various cultures.
SOUNDBITE 1 (Chinese): WANG XIAOSONG, Curator of China's National Pavilion, Professor from the Zhejiang University
"The theme of this year's national pavilion is 'Atlas: Harmony in Diversity.' People from different groups, countries, and regions gather together to spread Chinese traditional culture through communication. And culture is connected to today's life. So how could we deliver or transform it to foreign people? My answer is that art is the best bridge, and art is also a global language."
SOUNDBITE 2 (Italian): LAURA FINCATO, Veteran Italian politician and honorary citizen of Suzhou
"The presence of China's National Pavilion at the biennial again this year is very important, because it is a continuous demonstration of the great cultural relations existing between China and Italy. The importance lies in the indication and the desire to create an increasingly stronger relationship with Italian culture in the theme of harmony, respect for diversity and respect for different origins, which finally promotes a closer relation between two countries."
The 60th Venice Biennale will end on Nov. 24.
