STORYLINE:
With a slogan of "Baghdad, flowers and reconstruction," the 13th Baghdad International Flower Festival kicked off on Friday in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad, attracting visitors from home and abroad.
Iraqi officials and representatives of diplomatic delegations in Baghdad attended the opening ceremony, during which the Iraqi national anthem was played and folk music was performed by local musicians.

"This year, we notice a great momentum in attendance, especially families who have suffered from wars. This festival is considered an outlet for them. And we notice the presence of women more than men as women have a higher interest in flowers."
