LAFD responded to reports of a solo-vehicle crash at the intersection of North Marmion Way and North Figueroa Street.
When crews arrived on scene, they located a sedan that had sheared a fire hydrant and was wedged between a traffic signal pole and structure.
The structure sustained damage from the impact.
The water was shut off by LAFD in just a few minutes.
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene.
LAPD Northeast is handling the investigation.
