The third batch of the Chinese medical team to Kiribati carried out a complimentary clinic service on Saturday for the elderly citizens in the capital city Tarawa.
More than 40 elderly people received comprehensive health assessments, including monitoring of vital signs such as blood pressure, blood glucose, and blood oxygen levels.
With the combination of Western and Chinese medicine methods, the medical team provided pulse diagnosis, acupuncture, massage, and cardiopulmonary auscultation, as well as educational sessions on the symptoms, prevention strategies, treatment options, and medication precautions for common local ailments such as hypertension, bone and joint pain, and eye disorders.
