This is the dramatic moment a building under construction collapsed in India.

The home was being built in the Kalyanpuri neighbourhood of Delhi when it gave way on Saturday, April 20 at around 4 pm local time.

Footage shows how residents shouted as they ran to safety with the four-storey property tumbling down behind them in a cloud of dust.

Nearby properties were damaged by falling debris. Officials said there were no injuries.

Investigators said that before the collapse, the building had already shown signs of instability, tilting to one side during construction.

As a precautionary measure, the police evacuated several surrounding residences to prevent any potential harm.
