A woman crawled along a road after repeatedly being knocked down by gale-force winds in southern China.

CCTV footage filmed in Dongguan City in Guangdong Province on April 20, shows a woman repeatedly being knocked down by the overpowering gusts as she attempted to make her way through the storm.

Despite multiple attempts to get back on her feet, the relentless winds forced her to crawl helplessly.

However, seizing a momentary lull in the wind, she managed to sprint out of the camera's view, making a desperate escape from the brutal weather.

Earlier that day, at 6:12 p.m., the Dongguan Meteorological Office had escalated the rainstorm warning to a red alert, the most severe level, indicating a major storm with about 100 millimetres of rainfall already drenching some areas.
