A crying cat was rescued from the bottom of a well.

The feline was heard by the house owner Natcharuj Jaichunwarit as he was parking his car when he arrived at home in Chiang Mai Province, Thailand on April 10.

Footage shows the residents using a rake to scoop the black moggy from the bottom of hole with water.

It was pulled to higher ground and it hopped away, fleeing from its rescuers and disappearing into the street.

Natcharuj said: ‘It was a well in my parking lot. I heard the cat meowing while parking my car. I searched for it using the light on my phone.

‘I asked for help to save it and my grandfather and neighbour pulled the cat using the rake.'
