Eccentric Thai woman gives 'face slapping therapy' sessions
An eccentric Thai woman does 'face slapping therapy' sessions, which she claims will reduce wrinkles and define cheekbones.
Khemika Na Songkhla, more popularly known as Gung to her customers, said she has been using the bizarre reflexology technique for more than 30 years in her shop in Bangkok, Thailand.
Footage shows Gung tying a woman's hair to prepare her face for slapping. Wearing fake flowers with butterfly ornaments on her head, she began with a dance and loud music before starting to hit the woman in the cheek.
She moved, following the rhythm of the song, and hit the jaws of the customer up to her neck.
Gung said the treatment - which has a three-month waiting list - is a natural alternative to surgery and filler injections such as Botox. She charges 30,000 baht (810 USD) for four sessions.
She said it had evolved from 'breast slapping massage' which she also performs and claims is a way for women to enhance their bust.
She said: 'My grandmother taught me breast massage when I was a teenager. My chest was small, and I suffered from what you call pigeon chest. I wanted to make them larger and have cleavage like other girls.'
‘She taught me how to exercise my breasts based on folk knowledge by massaging them every day. However, I was too impatient with the slow results, so I massaged and slapped them quickly and strongly, which showed clear results quickly, making them larger with cleavage in just over a month.'
With years of breast slapping experience, she opened up shop in the capital city when she noticed a trend in breast enlargement surgery on the rise.
She said: ‘I assess every customer and if I think my massage will be effective, I treat them. Those with smaller chests want them larger and those who have had children wanted their chests to be firmer for their husbands.
'The slapping massage is just as effective for the face and it reduces wrinkles and makes the skin firmer. My customers are all happy, it is a proven technique and it is safe.'
She asks 18,000 baht (393.48 GBP) for two sessions in one month and as her technique gained popularity, Gung now teaches it to other masseuse for a fee - 10 million baht (218,600 GBP) for face slapping, 20 million baht (437,200.05 GBP) for breast slapping, and 30 million baht (655,800.07 GBP) for body slapping and only in cash.
On the other hand, she asks for 30,000 baht (355.80 GBP) for the face-slapping massage, which includes four sessions in one month. She also has another technique - a shoulder slapping massage - that costs 50,000 baht (1,093 GBP) for four sessions and a who body slapping massage for 150,000 baht (3,279 GBP).
