In a bid to enhance safety protocols and readiness among airborne personnel, the Georgia Army National Guard Safety Office orchestrated the 10th annual Joint Parachute Operations Mishap Preventative Orientation Course Enhanced (POMPOC-E).

Running from April 17 to 26, 2024, the comprehensive two-week program unfolded at two strategic locations: the Air Dominance Center in Savannah, Georgia, and the Plantation Airpark in Sylvania, Georgia.

Designed to equip participants with essential skills for conducting airborne operations with utmost safety, POMPOC-E drew attendees from various branches of the military, including the U.S. Army, U.S. Army Reserve, and U.S. Army and Air National Guard units. Among the diverse group of trainees were airborne personnel, riggers, jumpmasters, safety officers, and commanders.

The inaugural phase of the course, dubbed the Leader’s Canopy Control showcase, kicked off with a series of military free fall and double bag static line airborne jumps from a CH-47 Chinook helicopter. Held from April 17 to 19, 2024, at the Plantation Airpark in Sylvania, Georgia, this segment provided qualified personnel with hands-on experience and specialized training crucial for executing airborne maneuvers with precision and efficiency.
