King Abdullah II of Jordan on Tuesday warned of the danger of the recent regional escalation, which could push the region into a state of insecurity and instability.

The king made the remarks at a meeting in Amman with Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who is on his first visit to Jordan since assuming his position as the Emir of Kuwait.

During the meeting, King Abdullah reiterated the need to intensify efforts to achieve an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza and to unify Arab efforts to address the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the strip.

The king stressed the necessity of finding a political horizon for the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution, ensuring that the Palestinian brothers obtain their legitimate rights and establish their independent Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 border, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The two leaders stressed their pride in the deep-rooted historical relations between the two countries and peoples, and emphasized the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation opportunities in all fields, particularly in the economic and investment sectors.
