Taal Volcano spews smoke plume amid volcanic earthquakes
The Taal Volcano spewed a thick smoke plume amid heightened seismic activity in the Philippines today.
Video shows a cloud of white gas rising from the volcano's crater in Batangas on April 24 morning.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said 14 volcanic tremors occurred at the volcano in the past 24 hours. Gas plumes reaching up to 600 metres high were also detected, while 3,504 tonnes of sulfur dioxide were recorded on April 22.
PHIVOLCS reported four steam-driven eruption at Taal Volcano on Saturday, April 20.
The volcano is on Alert level 1 indicating sporadic steam and volcanic activity.
