Stunning images show Alnwick Garden in full bloom – as social media users say the aerial shots reveal a saucy secret.

The garden's famous cherry blossom orchard boasts the largest Taihaku orchard in the world with 329 trees.

Amazing aerial photos and video show that despite the wet spring, the blossom has finally bloomed.

Once the blossom falls, the tens of thousands of petals will be used to flavour a £35-a-bottle Cherry Blossom gin.

Victoria Watson, of Alnwick Garden, said: "The Taihaku cherry blossom is synonymous with Japan, where ‘Hanami' is celebrated every spring and people gather to enjoy the ‘transient beauty of flowers'."

"In Japan, cherry blossoms have a deep cultural significance, representing exquisite beauty and the fragility of life."

"By capturing the floral taste and smell of flowers in the gin, we hope to bring the magic of the orchard to life."

Meanwhile some social media users claim the garden's centrepiece – the famous Grand Cascade fountain – looks like female reproductive organs.

Writing on Facebook, one user said: "Love it but being a retired nurse, all I'm seeing is a womb and fallopians."

Another added: "Oh my God I am so glad you said that because that's all I can see haha."

Meanwhile another user said: "I'm not a nurse and that's what I saw!"

Another commented: "So it wasn't just my eyes that saw it! I thought my eyes were deceiving me but apparently not."

One user said: "I never noticed this before. Some of the shapes of the paths look quite phallic too!"

One added: "Blooming 'eck I'll never unsee that! Spring has certainly sprung!"

Another said: "Reminds me of biology text books I had at school."

Another joked: "Maybe it needs to be renamed as 'Lord and Lady Garden!'"

Alnwick Garden was created by The Duchess of Northumberland Jane Percy.

She and her husband, the 12th Duke of Northumberland Ralph Percy, live in nearby Alnwick Castle, made famous by the Harry Potter films.
