This is the terrifying moment a monitor lizard intruder that broke into a family's home was found stuck inside.

Homeowner Pan Bunnag was shocked when he found the reptile in the house in Pathum Thani, Thailand, on January 11.

CCTV footage shows the creature forcing itself against the closed sliding door in an attempt to exit the house. Moments later, they opened the door, and it dashed out of the property.

Pan said: 'I was so confused because we didn't initially know how to get it out of the house.'

Monitor lizards shy away from humans and prefer to avoid confrontation. However, if they feel cornered or threatened, they can use their sharp claws, powerful tails, and strong jaws to defend themselves.
