This is the bizarre moment a zombie snail with glowing horns is seen outside a home.

Wannapon Vorayos witnessed the immobilised snail being controlled by a parasite in his yard in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thailand, on March 9.

Footage shows the eye stalks of the unfortunate animal filled with green broodsacs pulsating to attract birds.

The parasitic flatworm, Helminth, had gained full control of the snail's body and makes its host stand out to avians or other animals in order to be eaten.

When this happens, the parasite takes over the predator and spreads across its bloodstream, manipulating its entire system.

Wannaporn said: 'It was kind of terrifying to know that there's a parasite controlling the snail. It's how horror movies play out.'
