Rescuers save raccoon trapped on pole near Novorossiysk, Russia

On April 15, 2024, in the village of Myskhako near Novorossiysk, Russia, a heartwarming rescue operation unfolded as local residents enlisted the help of authorities to save a raccoon stranded atop a pole for two days. The animal, unwilling or unable to descend on its own, prompted the intervention of the Novorossiysk rescue service. Using an aerial platform and a noose, the dedicated rescuers successfully reached the raccoon and safely removed it from its precarious perch. Following the rescue, the relieved creature was promptly released into the nearby forest, thanks to the efforts led by Alexey Oderov, head of the Novorossiysk rescue service.
