STORYLINE:
The Iraqi Air Force celebrated its 93rd anniversary on Wednesday with the participation of Iraqi Defense Minister Thabet Mohammed al-Abbasi, senior commanders and officers.
The celebration included a set of events and a military exercise in cooperation with the Italian Air Force, Army Aviation Command, and Special Forces.
Defense Minister Thabet Mohammed al-Abbasisaid said in a speech, "We appreciate the important and decisive role of the Air Force, especially in the liberation operations carried out by our army against IS terrorists."
"The Air Force played a great role in transporting medical supplies and food to the Palestinian people recently," the minister said.
"We seek to develop the Iraqi Air Force by providing the latest aircraft," he added.
