A university bus carrying teachers and students tilted while travelling on the road.

Footage shows the vehicle owned by the Udon Thani Rajabhat University driving forward with wonky stature in Khon Kaen province, Thailand on February 13.

It took 29 food technology students and four teachers on a study trip and was returning to school when it had an issue.

The vehicle safely arrived at the university and was promptly repaired.

Wiboon Pensuk, the vice president of the university, said: 'The bus was more than ten years old. It was transporting four teachers and 29 food technology students in freshman, sophomore, and junior years on a study trip to Khon Kaen.

'The day after the incident, the bus underwent maintenance, during which it was discovered that four ball joints were damaged.'

University officials also instructed the driver to conduct thorough checks on the vehicle before each use to ensure the safety of both teachers and students.

Despite being one of the wealthiest countries in Asia, Thailand suffers from chronic underinvestment in its highways and education, contributing to its poor road safety levels. Only a handful of African countries are worse.

Thailand has one of the world's worst road safety records. Ministers have set the goal of reducing fatalities from 32.7 deaths per 100,000 people to 12 per 100,000 people by the year 2027.
