Artisans stretch Asia's largest carpet near Hazratbal shrine, symbolizing Kashmir's creative aspirations post-Srinagar's global acclaim. In a bid to uphold Srinagar's recent recognition as one of the world's most creative cities, artisans in Kashmir are fervently pursuing excellence in their craft. Nestled in the picturesque village of Wayil within North Kashmir's Kralpora region, a team of Kashmiri artisans has unveiled a masterpiece hailed as Asia's largest handcrafted carpet. This remarkable creation measures an astounding 72 feet by 40 feet, covering an expansive area of 2,880 square feet. Over the course of eight years, more than 25 skilled artisans dedicated themselves to the meticulous process, culminating in the completion of this extraordinary piece.
