Buenos Aires, Argentina - July 7, 2018

The Frankenstein story is taking shape in two different studios. One is The Bride, the Maggie Gyllenhaal-directed adaptation for Warner Bros., which has just shared the first images of Christian Bale and Jessie Buckley as the monstrous creations. The second is Frankenstein, the film Guillermo del Toro has dreamed of directing all his life. A dream he is currently fulfilling with Netflix, starring Jacob Elordi.

The good news is that both productions have a chance to be crowned as two of the most attractive films of 2025. More interestingly, however, it could be the first decisive showdown in a battle that has Hollywood divided since the pandemic.

This footage illustrates exhibition on Frankenstein at the National Library in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
