Eight killed and 23 injured when goods vehicle hits lorry in India

At least eight people were killed while 23 more were injured when a goods vehicle crashed into a lorry in India.

The family were riding the cargo vehicle returning home from a family gathering when it slammed into a lorry parked on the roadside in Bemetara, Chhattisgarh, on April 28 evening.

At least eight people, including three children, were killed in the horror crash.

They were identified in local reports as Bhuri Nishad, 50, Neera Sahu, 55, Geeta Sahu, 60, Agniya Sahu, 60, Khushbu Sahu, 39, Madhu Sahu, 5, Rikesh Nishad, 6, and Twinkle Nishad, 6.

Collector Bemetara Ranveer Sharma confirmed that the injured individuals have been rushed to hospitals for treatment.

Four of them in critical condition were taken to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Raipur.
