San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department deputies with LASD Airship and CHP, assisted the SBSD in tracking an armed carjacking suspect out of San Bernardino County westbound on the 210 Freeway at Irwindale Avenue in the city of Irwindale. The suspect was traveling at high-speed in a Nissan Maxima when it crashed into multiple vehicles, including a semi on the WB 210 Freeway just past the 605 Freeway The suspect attempted to carjack multiple other vehicles on the WB 210 Freeway when traffic was slowing down due to the crash. The suspect jumped over a fence onto the south side of the 210 where he was taken into custody by CHP and the LASD. LACoFD responded to the scene but no one had injuries. Unknown at this time where the carjacking occurred in the San Bernardino area.
