A toddler cooled off in a paddling pool during a heat wave in the Philippines.

Footage shows the two-year-old boy named Zachary enjoying the refreshing bath with his DIY shower made by his aunt in Antique province on April 24.

The shower had a pipe bringing the water up to a bottle with holes to create the sprinklers.

A severe heat wave has gripped the Philippines, forcing thousands of schools nationwide, including in the densely populated Manila area, to suspend in-person classes due to the extreme temperatures.

The situation is critical, with half of the country's 82 provinces currently experiencing drought conditions, according to the United Nations. An additional 31 provinces are facing dry spells or abnormally dry conditions.
