An agricultural fire caused a two-hour blackout as it spread to a transmission tower in Thailand.

The blaze broke out at a harvested rice field and spread to a high-tension electricity pylon, causing a power outage in Uthai Thani province on April 29 evening.

Around 300 personnel were dispatched to extinguish the inferno, which was under control at 9:30 pm.

Uthai Thani governor Teerapat Kachamat has ordered a probe into the incident, which is believed to be caused by agricultural burning.
