Firemen rescue parrot tangled in fishing line in California
Firemen rescued a parrot that was tangled in a fishing line in California.
Orange County Fire Authority responded to a distress call from a local who spotted the animal, deploying Engine 82 and Truck 81 to the scene on April 29.
Footage shows one of the volunteers on top of the crane and taking the bird to safety after removing the string. It was unclear how the bird was stuck in the line on top of the tree.
A spokesman from the fire authority said: 'We received a call today for a parrot entangled in fishing line. We're not sure how it happened but we're glad we could get it down to free it from the rest of the line.'
The parrot was promptly taken into the care of the Garden Grove Animal Care Service.
