Happy Mondays frontman Shaun Ryder said 'Hallelujah' when an animal search and rescue team found his beloved dog which had been missing for two days.

The ‘Step On' singer had issued an "emergency" appeal on Sunday (April 29) after his beagle Malcolm vanished while walking with his wife Joanne in the Peak District."

Mountain rescue teams and fans responded to his call by scouring the remote area near Glossop, Derbs., where the mutt was last seen.

And 48 hours later, a touching video showed how Malcolm was reunited with Joanne after being discovered by members of the charity Drone To Home.

Shaun wrote on social media: "MALCOLM IS HOME!! A massive THANK YOU to The Glossop Mountain Rescue and Drone to Home for finding him!!"

"Also, thanks to everyone that posted comments with helpful info, links and kind words, all much appreciated."

A spokesperson from Drone To Home team said they were thrilled to help bring Malcolm back to his doting owners.

They added: "So pleased we could help reunite this handsome fella. The family are immensely grateful as you can imagine."

Shaun had originally released his ‘SOS' on social media following Malcolm's disappearance close to the crash site of a B29 U.S. Air Force bomber.

And hundreds of the singer's devoted fans then shared their fears for the mutt's safety, with one writing on Facebook: "crossing my fingers for good news."

However, they were left elated when Shaun revealed yesterday that the missing dog was now back with his family.

One fan wrote: "Welcome Home Malcolm! Get your paws up and be snuggled and pampered."

While another joked: "Great news! Shame it wasn't a Monday! Happy Tuesday's it is."

And third fan said: "I've just watched the reunion video, enough to make a grown woman cry!!"

Drone To Home is registered under the commission number 1198796.
