NJ Transit Police Officers Save Choking Child Through Swift Action

New Jersey Transit Police officers successfully rescued a choking 3-year-old child at Trenton Station.

Responding to urgent cries for help from a private bus carrier on Tuesday, April 16, at 9:44 p.m., NJ Transit Police Department (NJTPD) officers immediately sprang into action. Upon arrival, they encountered a distressing scene: a small child in dire need of assistance, struggling with an obstructed airway.

The officers initiated CPR in a valiant attempt to dislodge the obstruction. Despite their efforts, the child remained unresponsive, prompting heightened concern as the child's complexion began to shift to a concerning shade of blue due to oxygen deprivation.

K9 Officer Geoghegan swiftly utilized his K9 vehicle to transport the child to the hospital, while Sergeant Filandro continued CPR en route.
