USA: San Diego Zoo Leaders Meet Giant Pandas in China
San Diego, CA, USA - April 29, 2024
Leaders from the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance recently embarked on a significant journey to China, where they met Yun Chuan and Xin Bao, two giant pandas set to join the San Diego Zoo's care.
During their visit, the conservation and care team leaders had the privilege of encountering Yun Chuan and Xin Bao in person at the Wolong and Bifengxia Panda Bases, where the pandas are currently being cared for.
In addition to meeting the pandas, San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance leaders engaged in discussions with conservation partners from the China Wildlife Conservation Association. Topics ranged from prospective research programs aimed at protecting and conserving giant pandas and their habitat to specialized care and nutrition programs for pandas.
While the exact arrival date of Yun Chuan and Xin Bao in San Diego remains uncertain, preparations are underway as the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance collaborates with U.S. and Chinese conservation partners. Anticipation is high for their prospective arrival this summer.
