This is the heartwarming footage showing a woman surprising her military husband on a layover flight after he was gone for a year.

She detailed the entire story to Newsflare.

"My husband was returning from a year-long assignment in South Korea while serving in the military.

"I had a flight credit through Delta Airlines and decided to surprise my husband on his layover flight home. I was able to get my husband’s seat assignment out of his email and I booked the seat next to him.

"He had just gotten off a 15-hour long flight and was on the last stretch before he arrived home.

"I flew to Atlanta that morning and waited for the flight back to our destination. I saw my husband in the airport when he landed but I was stealth and hid from him. He was able to gain access to a lounge so I was able to relax a bit without him seeing me.

"The Delta Airlines crew was so sweet, I explained the surprise to the gate agent and she let me pre-board.

"There was an off duty pilot ahead of me and I shared the surprise, he alerted the flight crew and they went with it!

"A flight attendant gave me two glasses of champagne and Evelyn (the flight attendant in the video) was so sweet and distracted my husband as he boarded.

"When he boarded I hid my head under a hoodie and it looked like I was looking out the window, although I was pointing my camera to him. The rest is history!

"We have been together nearly 20 years and married for 17. We have two sons. I work for a non-profit as a dental hygienist providing free dental care on a mobile dental clinic to children in elementary schools. My husband is active duty and will retire in a few years."
