This is the dramatic moment a policeman pulled a driver and the passenger from a burning car in Indiana.

Officer Devin Moore was en route to an off-duty assignment at a local school when he encountered the vehicle that had careened off the roadway, colliding with a tree and igniting into flames.

He rushed to the aid of individuals trapped in the vehicle being engulfed by flames on Interstate 74 near the 121-mile marker on February 20.

Officer Moore extracted both the driver and passenger from the vehicle. While the driver was rescued and survived, tragically, the male passenger died.

Shelbyville Police Department extended their condolences to the victims' families, emphasizing their unwavering support during this grievous time.

Chief Bill Dwenger of the SPD hailed Officer Moore's actions as 'a testament to the department's dedication and valour.'
