SOUNDBITE 1 (English): MUTALE NALUMANGO, Zambian Vice President
"The restoration and transformation of the economy cannot be realized without the dedication and commitment of all the workers. Our government is aware of the challenges workers in the country are facing resulting from the current economic situation and the drought. And the government is implementing a number of policies and programs as outlined in the 8th National Development Plan. As your caring government, we will continue to improve the conditions of service for all the workers in the country in consultation with all the stakeholders such as the trade union and the employers association."

"When talking about resilience, guest of honor, we wish to state that resilience is not merely the ability to endure hardships, but the capacity to bounce back stronger in the face of adversity.
