Toronto, ON, Canada - April 28, 2024

Thousands of members of the Iranian community gathered at Queen's Park in Toronto, Canada, to spotlight the plight of Toomaj Salehi.

Known for his protest songs addressing societal issues in Iran and criticizing the government's policies, Salehi faces charges of "propaganda against the regime" and "insulting the supreme leadership authority."

Despite multiple arrests and releases on bail in recent years, Salehi's situation took a dire turn on April 24 when he was sentenced to death for his involvement in Iran's 2022–23 Women, Life, Freedom movement.
