A young woman from Honolulu, Hawaii, has shared a video of her "severe" allergic reaction after getting nails done at a salon.

Kayla Tinniel uploaded the video to TikTok where the shows off the damaged skin of her hand and fingers.

She captioned the clip: "Has anyone else gone through this? I hope my story and experience brings awareness to anyone who gets their nails done or has little tiny bubbles in their fingers! do NOT ignore it the way i did.

"My allergic reaction has been on going for a year, I didn't have insurance to see the dermatologist but now i do so ill keep you all posted on my healing journey."

She also told Newsflare: "Sharing my experience to spread awareness to anyone who gets their nails done - whether it’s at the salon or doing it on yourself at home.

"This is how severe an allergic reaction can get if you IGNORE the signs of irritation in your fingers and hands! We must take even the smallest reactions and the many risks and dangers from the harsh chemicals into account. "
